NUR 100 Introduction to Professional Nursing Practice

This course is an introduction to the role of the Associate Degree Nurse in the context of the mission, vision, and values of Mercy College of Ohio and the conceptual framework of the Associate of Applied Science Division of Nursing Program. The student will be introduced to concept based learning, principles of academic integrity, communication, and critical thinking skills required for success
in the nursing program. Students will gain knowledge and skills related to clinical readiness for nursing practice that include medical terminology, communication strategies, dosage calculation, and basic nursing skills. This course has a clinical practicum.
