NUR 494 Nursing Leadership

This is the final course in the RN to BSN program which integrates concepts from the program curriculum within the context of nursing leadership and management. Emphasis is placed on interprofessional collaboration, healthcare system organization, financing, health promotion, and care transitions across settings, system- or community-focused initiatives. This course includes a practice experience where students collaborate with a nurse leader or qualified nursing professional to apply leadership theories, professional standards, and management principles in practice. Through direct and indirect care experiences, students examine how nurse leaders influence quality, safety, and patient care outcomes for individuals, families, and populations.
